Welcome to Allen Vineyards
What started with making wine on the weekends with my family turned into an after-work hobby with my husband. Eventually that evolved into a passion for crafting terroir driven wines to share with the world.
The story of Allen Vineyards begins with my grandfather, Howie Allen. For as long as I can remember, every weekend was spent with my family on my grandfather’s vineyard helping him tend to the vines. He taught me so much, from pruning to bottling and everything in between. Perhaps most importantly he taught me how to appreciate all the hard work and love that goes into making a bottle of wine. My grandfather has since passed away and my parents have taken over the vineyard, but Howie continues to inspire me every day.
Another daily source of inspiration is my husband Matt. When I met him I quickly realized I had found someone who connects with wine the same way I do. Together we have explored many amazing wine regions around the world and we both agree there is nowhere that has captured our hearts more than the Russian River Valley. Since 2016 Matt and I have followed in Howie’s footsteps and continue to make wine out of the Pinot Noir from Allen Vineyard. Together, we have pruned vines, fermented grapes and bottled each wine by hand. The reward is getting to share our wines with friends and family.
In 2023, we embarked on a new journey to make enough wine to share beyond our family and friends. Matt and I love making wine, but for us, the most exciting part of the whole experience is doing it all together.
